Warm tender apples encased in gooey maple and cinnamony sweetness, finished with a buttery, crispy oat topping make this Vegan Apple Crisp a must-have dessert for the holiday season! This dairy-free, nut-free, refined sugar-free and gluten-free apple crisp is sure to please all types of eaters. You can also make it soy-free by using a soy-free vegan butter.
½cupvegan butter, softened but not melted(I used Earth Balance; use soy-free version if needed)
Instructions
FOR THE FILLING
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Peel, core and cube the apples. Add the apple pieces to a large mixing bowl.
Add lemon, lemon zest, maple syrup, coconut sugar, oat flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Use your hands to combine ingredients until they are well incorporated.
Pour apple mixture into a 13" x 9" baking dish. Spread so that apples are evenly distributed.
FOR THE TOPPING
Add oats, oat flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon, salt and vegan butter to a mixing bowl. Use your hands to combine ingredients together until well incorporated.
Sprinkle topping evenly over the apple mixture.
Place the baking dish in the oven on the center rack and bake for 50-60 minutes until fruit is bubbling and topping has browned.
Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
