Instructions

  • Wash the asparagus spears and pat them dry. Trim the ends enough so that they fit in the air fryer basket (about 1 to 1 ½ inches up from the bottom).
  • Add the asparagus to a rectangular container with a tight-fitting lid or a zip top bag along with the olive oil and salt. Shake until asparagus is well-coated. Alternately, you can add the asparagus to a mixing bowl and use your hands to combine the ingredients until well-incorporated.
  • If your air fryer has a separate elevated crisping tray or plate, be sure to insert it. Add the asparagus to the air fryer basket and air fry at 400° F for 6-9 minutes, shaking the basket every few minutes. Thinner spears will take less time to cook while thicker spears will take longer. Asparagus should be tender with a slight crisp. Add more sea salt to taste before serving, if desired.

Notes

Store leftover asparagus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350° F, in a nonstick skillet on the stove top or in the microwave in 15-second intervals until warmed.
