Upgrade your regular fries with these homemade parmesan truffle fries. This recipe is super easy to make and I show you three ways you can make these right at home anytime that craving hits!
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Leave the skins on for extra texture and nutrients. Cut each potato lengthwise into thick wedges, about ½-inch to ¾-inch thick.
In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil until they are evenly coated. Add garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, dried oregano, truffle seasoning mix. Toss again until the potatoes are well coated with the seasoning.
Arrange the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary, depending on the size of your air fryer. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 18-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. Check for doneness and crispiness. If needed, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the fries are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
Once done, remove the truffle fries from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving plate. Garnish with parmesan cheese (optional). Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside a main dish.
Notes
Note 1:
Use ½ teaspoon of truffle salt or as needed to season your fries. Add in any additional seasonings you prefer to further your french fries. truffle seasoning in this recipe includes parmesan cheese, garlic salt, lemon, pepper and dried herbs.
Tips for best results:
Whether you are air frying, baking or deep frying, don't crowd the basket. Bake in batches if you are making a large quantity.
Don't skip on the truffle oil and truffle salt. These two main ingredients are essential to making the truffle fries. You can also sub the truffle salt with a pre-salted truffle seasoning that includes truffle salt along with other seasonings such as garlic and onion powders.
Conventional Oven Method (Alternative Method)
Step 1: Same as the air fryer method, season your potato wedges in a large bowl by tossing in the truffle oil and seasoning mix with potatoes until well coated.Step 3: Pre-heat your oven for 425°F (215°C). Bake the fries for 30-35 minutes. Use a spatula to flip the fries at the halfway mark so they cook evenly across.
Deep Fryer (Alternative Method)
Step 1: Preheat the oil to 350° and prepare a wire rack lined with paper towels.Step 2: Fry the potatoes (with no seasoning) for approximately 5 minutes. Fry in batches and place them onto the paper towel to soak up the excess oil.Step 3: Season your potatoes after frying them and toss the fries so the seasoning is well coated across the fries.
