Ingredients

  • 6 cups pecans
  • 6 tablespoon butter
  • 2 egg whites lightly beaten with a fork
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon all spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees.
  • Cube up 6 tablespoon of butter and place across the baking pan and place it into the oven during preheat.

  • In a large bowl, lightly beat the egg whites with a fork until the egg whites are loosened. Mix in sugar, salt, cinnamon, all spice and vanilla extract to form the spread.

  • Add in the pecans, coat mixture well.

  • Spread the coated pecans evenly across the buttered baking sheet.

  • Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes. Stir in the mixture every 10-15 minutes so that pecans are browned evenly across.

Top Tips for Success

  • Stir the pecans every 10-15 minutes so that pecans are evenly browned. The slow roasting process helps absorb the cinnamon spices and sugars into the pecans.
  • To make this even easier, melt the butter in the microwave and pour in the melted butter along with the remaining ingredients to form the sugar coating. Coat the pecans and place them onto the baking sheet to spread evenly across
  • Spread the pecans evenly so that there is little to no overlap across the baking sheet. This will allow the pecans to roast evenly and absorb all the flavors in the mixture.
