Imagine the cozy scent of cinnamon and sugar filling your kitchen, wrapping you in the warmth of the holiday season or the crisp magic of fall. That is exactly how my house smells every time i make a batch of these.

These have a more holiday appeal compared to my oven roasted maple pecans, but they are equally addicting!

Perfect for snacking, gifting, or sprinkling over your favorite holiday dishes, these candied pecans bring the joy of the season to every bite!

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • This recipe is quick, easy, with about 5 minutes of prep.
    • Simple ingredients that you can find in your pantry.
    • Great for snacking, topper for oatmeal or even batch them as holiday gifts!

    Ingredients & Substitutions

    Sweet-Crunchy-Cinnamon-and-Sugar-Roasted-Pecans-Ingredients-with labels
    • Pecans - Use raw, pecan halves in this pecan recipe. I've found pecans are mild in flavor and absorb spices well.
    • Salt - I use kosher salt for this recipe. If you have table salt use half the quantity specified in the recipe card. Adjust according to your taste.
    • Unsalted Butter - If you don't have unsalted butter on hand, substitute with salted butter.
    • Raw Sugar (or Granulated Sugar) -  If using a sweetener, cut quantities by ½ or ⅓ depending on your taste profile.
    • Egg White - Egg whites help form the crunchy coating on the pecans.
    • Ground Cinnamon - To get the best flavor, use your best quality cinnamon. Organic Saigon cinnamon works great for this recipe.
    • All Spice Powder - The secret spice that gives these an extra burst of holiday flavor and has your house smelling like autumn!
    • Vanilla extract - You can also substitute with maple extract for a maple taste to your nuts.

    Equipment

This recipe is simple and doesn't need any fancy baking equipment.

All you will need is a baking sheet (10x15' or 17x12') and a mixing bowl to get going.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. Cube up 6 tablespoon of butter and place across the baking pan and place it into the oven during preheat. Set the oven to preheat at 325°F (165°C).
    2. In a large bowl, lightly whip the egg whites with a fork until they are loosened. Add in sugar, salt, cinnamon, all spice and vanilla extract and mix to form the cinnamon sugar coating.
    3. Add in the pecans, coat mixture well
    4. Take the buttered baking pan out of the oven, and spread the coated pecans evenly across the baking tray, mixing it along with the melted butter.
    5. Bake at 325°F for 30-35 minutes. Stir the pecan mixture every 10-15 minutes so that pecans are browned evenly across.

    Top Tips for Success

Tip 1: Stir the pecans every 10-15 minutes so that pecans are evenly browned. The slow roasting process helps absorb the cinnamon spices and sugars into the pecans.

Tip 2: To make this even easier, melt the butter in the microwave and pour in the melted butter along with the remaining ingredients to form the sugar coating. Coat the pecans and place them onto the baking sheet to spread evenly across

Tip 3: Spread the pecans evenly so that there is little to no overlap across the baking sheet. This will allow the pecans to roast evenly and absorb all the flavors in the mixture.

What to Serve with Cinnamon Sugar Pecans

These pecans are great to serve as a breakfast topper or eat standalone as a snack. I like to top mine off on hot oatmeal, or use them in salads for the perfect crunch. Check out some suggestions below on how you can pair these crunchy sweet cinnamon sugar pecans.

    How to Store These Pecans

Store them at room temperature in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks.

This recipe makes a large batch (approximately 24 servings for 6 cups of pecans). I like to portion them out so i can use them as a topper for oatmeal or for lunch on salads.

Hi Morgan, 2-3 tsp of cinnamon work well. Perhaps next time, you can try adding in 2 tsp and seeing if that might be enough? Let me know!
